Sewer Maintenance
Crews assigned to the Public Works Sewer Maintenance Division maintain over 73 miles of main sewer line. All main sewer lines are cleaned annually, and main sewer lines are inspected on an on-going basis. Areas where grease regularly accumulates on the sewer line walls are cleaned more frequently. Building sewer lines are the responsibility of the property owner. A building sewer line is the line conveying wastewater from the building to the main line.
When an inquiry is received from a property owner or resident about a possible blockage in the building sewer, crews have the equipment needed to televise the line to determine if a blockage exists and, if so, reveal the location and origin of the blockage. However, to utilize this equipment, the building sewer must have a clean out installed. If not, the equipment cannot be utilized. This courtesy service is provided at no cost to the community.
To request this service or for any additional information, please call the Public Works Superintendent, Monday – Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at (909) 625-9467
