Attention Montclair Community

Effective immediately, and until rescinded, dine–in restaurants within the City of Montclair will be allowed to temporarily create or expand al fresco (outdoor) dining areas notwithstanding any preexisting limitations imposed under the Montclair Municipal Code. This City of Montclair Community Guidance is based on provisions of Dine–In Restaurants Guidance issued by the California Department of Public Health updated on Thursday, July 2, 2020 and Guidance on Closures of Sectors in Response to Covid–19 by Governor Newsom and the California Department of Public Health published on July 1, 2020.

In efforts to provide more testing opportunities for San Bernardino County residents, community testing events are being held throughout the county. At these testing events, samples are collected by inserting a swab up the nostril or into the mouth to the throat. These samples are then sent to a laboratory for COVID-19 testing. Events are free of charge and do not require health insurance.

On May 14, 2020, the County of San Bernardino launched the COVID-Compliant Business Partnership Program to support local small businesses and help ensure ongoing compliance with State and County health orders and direction.

In Summer 2019, Caltrans will begin multiple projects to improve safety and traffic flow on State Route 60, a heavily traveled east-west corridor for commuters and goods movement through Southern California. Dubbed the 60 Swarm, these projects will start in Summer 2019 and continue through Fall 2021. The 60 Swarm projects include the SR-60 Bridge Replacement Project and a separate SR-60 Pavement Rehabilitation Project.

Sema Construction of Riverside, will replace three bridges along SR-60 at Pipeline Avenue, Monte Vista Avenue and Benson Avenue in San Bernardino County. The vertical clearances on these bridges are nonstandard and the structures continue to be struck by oversize vehicles, which causes significant damage. The 18- month project to replace these bridges will begin in Summer 2019, and most of the work will be completed during nighttime freeway closures.

60 Swarm project work will include multiple, full directional freeway lane and ramp closures from 10 p.m. Friday nights to 5 a.m. Monday mornings, starting in late July through mid-November 2019. The remainder of the work will be completed with lane closures through Summer 2021.

SAN BERNARDINO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) 60 Swarm projects continue State Route 60 (SR 60) to repair deteriorated pavement slabs and replace the Pipeline, Monte Vista and Benson Avenue bridges.

The SR 60 Pavement Rehabilitation Project will continue this weekend with week two, of fifteen weekends, of full directional closures of eastbound SR 60 between Interstate 15 (I-15) and the 60/91/215 Junction in Riverside from Friday at 10:00 p.m. through Monday at 5:00 a.m. There are seven remaining weekends of eastbound SR 60 closures and then seven weekends of westbound SR 60 closures. All lanes and ramps are closed during the directional closures. There will no closures on Labor Day or Veteran’s Day holiday weekends.

Motorists are advised that this weekend the traffic detours for the 60 Swarm will be challenging. There is a concert event at the Fontana Speedway located off I-10 in Fontana. Cherry Avenue and other surrounding ramps on I-10 and I-15 will be utilized by concert goers beginning Friday, August 2 through Sunday, August 4.

Motorists are advised to use SR 91 and SR 210 around the 60 Swarm and concert event as alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic delays on I-10 and I-15 in the Ontario and Fontana regions.

The paving project will also continue with week night lane and ramp closures within the project limits on SR-60 from Euclid Avenue in Ontario to the 60/91/215 junction in Riverside Monday through Fridays from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The Bridge Replacement Project will also have weeknight lane and ramp closures on the eastbound SR-60 from Pipeline Avenue to Mountain Avenue from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and the westbound SR-60, from Mountain Avenue to Pipeline Avenue from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

A traffic reconfiguration will occur on SR-60 west of I-15 for the duration of the project.Lanes will be available in each direction on SR-60 during the day. The speed limit will be lowered to 55 miles per hour within the project limits. The two projects will continue until 2022.
