CITY HALL CLOSURE NOTICE REGARDING RECEIPT OF EMAIL, MAIL, AND ONLINE FORMS

The City business offices will be closed for the holidays beginning at 6:00 p.m. on December 19, 2024, and will resume operations on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. Any communications sent to the City via email, mail, or online form submission during this closure will be considered received by the City no earlier than January 6, 2025.

When do I need Planning Division approval for my home remodeling?

Modifications to any exterior feature of a home or any new construction, such as building additions, pools, decks, gazebos, etc., must be approved by the City of Montclair Planning Division prior to applying for a building permit. For any modifications and design changes, please email the necessary plans and information to the Senior Planner at sguiterrez@cityofmontclair.org for conceptual review and information.
