Facilities Maintenance
Building Maintenance is one of two areas of focus for the Grounds and Facilities Division. Building Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all City owned facilities. The staff maintains over 100,000 square feet of office space including City Hall, Community Center, Recreation, Montclair Library, Corporate Yard, Police and Fire Stations #1 and #2.
The custodial staff is responsible for the daily cleaning of buildings including tasks such as vacuuming, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning restroom facilities, mopping floors, window cleaning, cleaning light fixtures, etc.
The Building Maintenance Supervisor and Building Maintenance Technician are responsible for repairs and modifications to City facilities. Typical activities include: Servicing and repairing the air conditioning and heating systems, painting, electrical installation and repair, lock installation and repair, plumbing installation and repair and roof repair.

The City’s Community Center is available to rent for such events such as wedding receptions and graduations. The City’s Human Services Department makes reservations for this facility. They may be contacted by calling (909) 625-9460.
