National Night Out
Tuesday, August 3, 2021
Alma Hofman Park (Shark Park)
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 pm.
It’s once again time for National Night Out, scheduled on August 3rd, 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm, at Alma Hofman Park. National Night Out is a community-police awareness-raising event in the United States, held the first Tuesday of August. The event has been held annually since 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States and Canada. The event is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch and other anti-crime efforts.
Officers and staff from the Montclair Police and Fire Departments will be on hand to speak to the public and allow kids the opportunity to see and handle some of the tools of the trades. The American Red Cross will be set-up for blood donations at the Community Center from 2:30 pm – 8:30 pm. We will have a free photo booth and free face painting for the kids, as well as giveaways such as glow bracelets, coloring books, crayons, and fingerprint ID kits. Jojo’s Grill-A-Dog food truck will be available for larger appetites and Sweet ‘N Snowie will be selling cold treats. The movie, Frozen II, starts at about 7:30 pm. Please come out and enjoy the fun!
