Central Avenue Bridge Replacement and Widening
The existing bridge, constructed in 1967, is approaching the end of its service life and requires additional capacity. The project entails widening the bridge to add one additional lane in each direction, sidewalks and bike lanes.
The proposed Central Avenue replacement bridge over UPRR/Amtrak/Metrolink will include a two-span bridge structure to carry vehicular and pedestrian traffic over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) corridor, which also includes Amtrak and Metrolink service.
