Alleyway Improvements

The City will move forward with construction on three alleys at time which will take approximately four weeks to complete. Currently, crews are working to repair the entrances and exits to the alleys before the main construction work begins. Please review the sequence schedule to the right.

 

The project addresses improvements to some of Montclair's alleyways. Upgrades include full removal and replacement of existing concrete and asphalt, construction of new concrete drainage, gutter, replacement of non-compliant Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian ramps, and new traffic legends as needed.

The alleys affected by this project are as follows:

  1. Palo Verde Street to San Jose Street
  2. Fremont Avenue to Carrillo Avenue
  3. Bel Air Avenue to San Bernardino Street
  4. Poulsen Avenue to Benito Street
  5. Benito Street to Orchard Street
  6. Lindero Avenue to Fremont Avenue
  7. Kingsley Street to Orchard Street
  8. Fauna Street to Vernon Avenue
  9. Fauna Street to Ramona Avenue
  10. Pradera Avenue to Fauna Street
  11. Pradera Avenue to Benito Street
  12. Benito Street to San Bernardino Street
  13. San Bernardino Street to San Bernardino Court

NOTICE FOR RESIDENTS IN THE AFFECTED PROJECT AREAS:

Parking restrictions for street sweeping will be temporarily suspended during alleyway closures.

Residents should receive notification of the upcoming alley closures and instructions on where to temporarily place trash cans for pickup one week prior to construction. You can view the Trash Pickup Notification here. Please plan accordingly.
